I'll pay it forward! It is very flat, and you can expect to pedal most of the time. The surface was densely packed fine gravel the entire way without a single hole or rut. Watch out for the biting flies along the Pine Creek bike trail. Rode from Rattlesnake access area to Jersey Shore. Not only is the upper half the more scenic, in my opinion, but traveling south will give you a slight downhill the whole way. It was not only within walking distance of many of the restaurants and shops in downtown Wellsboro, but their indoor pool and hot tub are perfect for relaxing tired muscles. Tiadaghton Campground sits on the site ofa community that was once in the canyon. We rode this trail on 3 different days. The new surface on parts of the trail make the riding slower and more effort, even with a road bike's thinner tires, which to answer a rider's question, yes road bikes work well on this trail. Theres a store at Slate Run and services at Cammal and Jersey Mills. The trail itself is small, packed gravel and is very well kept. Ive never stayed at any of these, but the food is very good at Hotel Manor in Slate Run. What is considered the upper half? These slides range from about 10-20 feet in height and are very worth the short hike to see when water levels are high. Colorful birds are plentiful in the spring, especially Baltimore orioles and scarlet tanagers. The next point of interest worth stopping at is Tiadaghton Campground, which is just over four miles south of the Turkey Path at Leonard Harrison State Park.
